LIFT Program

Leadership Impact for Transformative Systems (LIFT)  is a community-driven initiative that supports BIPOC women in mid-management roles to thrive in leadership. We empower individuals while equipping organizations to foster equitable, safe, and inclusive workplaces. Backed by the Government of Canada (Women and Gender Equality Canada), LIFT advances gender equity by bridging systemic gaps in career progression.

What is this program?

LIFT is a series of tailored trainings and a mentorship program for BIPOC women navigating leadership in the public sector, with a focus on those in small to mid-sized organizations. Through research-informed workshops, 1:1 engagement, and customized support, LIFT addresses the barriers that BIPOC women face due to systemic discrimination, racial bias, and lack of organizational infrastructure. We also work directly with managers and institutions to build capacity, accountability, and sustainable equity practices.

LIFT centers lived experiences of BIPOC women, offering mentorship and skill-building designed to support their leadership journeys.

Leadership Equity

Organizations receive strategic, evidence-informed support to develop equitable leadership pathways aligned with their specific goals and operational context.

Province-Wide Access

We serve organizations across BC, with a strong presence in Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, and Northern BC. Our flexible model includes in-person and virtual engagements tailored to your needs.

Tools for Inclusive Management

We equip managers with practical tools to recruit, retain, and promote BIPOC women more effectively.

Who is this program for?

Despite qualifications and commitment, BIPOC women often face systemic barriers that hinder their upward mobility. This program exists to create tangible pathways for those women—and to ensure organizations can evolve without leaving equity behind. LIFT is designed for public and small-to-medium organizations ready to act on gender and racial equity. It’s also for BIPOC women in leadership roles seeking mentorship, support, and a space to thrive.

BIPOC Women in Mid-Management

LIFT supports Black, Indigenous, and racialized women navigating mid-level leadership by providing mentorship and skill-building opportunities to overcome systemic barriers in their career progression.

Public Sector Organizations

We work with small to medium-sized public sector organizations to build capacity for inclusive leadership and implement strategies that support the advancement of BIPOC women.

Managers and Supervisors

LIFT equips managers with tools and training to more effectively recruit, retain, and promote diverse leadership within their teams through a culturally informed and equity-centered approach.

Equity and HR Professionals

The program supports equity-focused professionals and HR leads in strengthening workplace culture through customized training, policy guidance, and GBA+ integrated leadership development.
