Accepting Internship Applications

As a supervisor, Rebecca’s primary goal is to enhance the quality of therapeutic work while fostering the professional and personal growth of her interns. She takes a collaborative approach, guiding and empowering interns to integrate their authentic selves and diverse modalities into the therapeutic process. Supervision is not only about developing skills but also about supporting interns in navigating challenges such as countertransference, feeling stuck, or just not knowing how to move forward with clients. Rebecca provides a safe and supportive environment where interns can reflect on their practice, take risks, and explore the therapeutic relationship.

She emphasizes the importance of experiential and corrective experiences in the healing process, believing that meaningful change comes from shifting old patterns and integrating new insights. Supervision also focuses on building resilience as a therapist and holding space for clients’ stories while maintaining self-awareness and emotional balance. An important aspect of this will include Person-of-the-Therapist (POTT) integration. Rebecca’s approach encourages interns to develop their own unique therapeutic style while ensuring ethical and legal standards are met and their professional growth is supported.

Rebecca specializes in grief, burnout, codependency, and attachment wounds, primarily using a combination of bottom-up therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindfulness, and inner child work, alongside top-down modalities like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

In addition to her supervisory role, Rebecca is a Full-Time Clinical Counsellor at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and has a growing private practice, providing individual therapy and specialized interventions to clients. Over the course of her career, Rebecca has worked in diverse settings such as Child & Youth Mental Health, private clinics, non-profit organizations, health authorities, and has experience with ICBC and WorkSafe clients dealing with chronic pain and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

She recognizes the importance of spirituality as a source of strength, hope, and resilience for many clients and interns. Rebecca is experienced in integrating spirituality into the therapeutic process in a way that is distinct from religion, supporting its positive impact on healing. Rebecca’s experience across a wide range of settings allows her to guide aspiring counsellor interns in developing a versatile, integrative practice that is both ethically grounded and impactful in meeting the diverse needs of clients. Rebecca is currently accepting applications for individual supervision.
