Back to school time!

By Arjan and Raajan Mann

Summertime is all about slowing down and relaxing.  Back to school time can be a drag, especially when it comes to making adjustments in daily routines such as bedtimes, mealtimes, adding homework time to your schedule and not to mention all the stress that comes with it.

First of all, in the morning when people are trying to get out of bed, that can be the biggest struggle and take up the most time!  Then there is a mad rush to get ready and right off the bat, they feel behind chasing time and even anxious. Secondly, some people may be anxious as soon as they wake up thinking about what they need to do. This may be overwhelming for them and slow them down in the morning.  So what can we do to have a better day? A good morning routine may be the answer.

Stretching as soon as we wake up with some breathing exercises may be helpful. Taking a quick shower relaxing the tense muscles may help relax us, if you have time, taking a quick  5 minute stroll in your yard or neighborhood may help, eating the most important meal of the day, breakfast, will give you a quick energy boost much needed to start your day, setting a goal for the day, and finally, thinking about what you are grateful for first thing in the morning can set your positive energy into your day (Fuller, 2021). Try to plan and follow a  daily morning routine and catch any bad habits that are bogging you down from making the adjustments that will work you in the fall and get you through the school year.
